Why become a volunteer?
Become part of Tuwapende Watoto in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and give our children attention, affection, and joy.
As a volunteer, you’ll accompany them in their daily lives, help with their studies and organize their free time, and become a valuable part of our team.
The assignment lasts a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months.
Minimum age: 18 years
No prior professional experience is required—what matters most is warmth, flexibility, team spirit, and good English skills.
Work Locations & Program Schedule
You will work at our children’s home and our schools, with children of all ages. Your responsibilities include:
Providing care and attention
Assisting with meals
Helping with homework
Planning recreational activities
Helping with household chores
Supporting our schools if you have the appropriate training or professional experience
Work hours: 6–8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
Time off: 2 days off per week.

Accommodations & Work
During your stay, you will live in the guesthouse on our grounds.
Amenities: Bed with mosquito net, wardrobe, fan, shower with running water, Western-style toilet, refrigerator.
Application & Costs
Monthly costs: CHF 300 for accommodation, meals, and airport transfers upon arrival and departure.
Not included: Airfare, insurance, vaccinations, visa.
