Well-prepared for a career – ready for life
Since 2016, we have been training young people in in-demand professions. With specialized knowledge, hands-on experience, and a state-recognized certification.
Where Talents Become Skilled Workers
Our vocational school is more than just a training center. It is the place where young adults take their future into their own hands. 240 students are completing two- or three-year vocational apprenticeships with us through the dual education system. They learn in modern workshops and deepen their knowledge through internships at real-world companies. At the end of the program, they receive a state-recognized certificate that opens doors to the Tanzanian job market.
What makes our training program special:
Practical Experience That Matters
70% hands-on work, 30% theory. Our students sew school uniforms in the tailoring workshop, bake bread for the school every day, grow vegetables for the school kitchen, and handle maintenance work on our buildings and infrastructure. They aren’t learning for exams—they’re learning for life.
Dual Vocational Training Based on the Swiss Model
Theory at vocational school, practical training on the job. Our apprentices complete a three-month internship at companies, hotels, workshops, or the Swiss Embassy. Many are subsequently hired directly by their internship employers.
A future for everyone
We also specifically train women in technical professions. Young women learn electronics, electrical work, plumbing, or computer science with us. Those from low-income families receive assistance with tuition fees. Talent and dedication are what count.
From an Idea to a Training Center
In 2016, we started with twelve apprentice tailors in a small room. Today, we have five school buildings, modern workshops for nine different trades, and a state-issued training license. What drives us: Tanzania needs well-trained skilled workers. Young people need opportunities. We bring both together.
We offer training in the following professions
Skilled trades:
Tailor

Over the course of two years, our apprentices learn to operate foot-powered and electric sewing machines and to work with textiles. In their first year of training, they work on foot-powered machines; in their second year, they work on electric sewing machines. Among other things, they produce uniforms for our schools.
Gardener
From planting to harvest: Our apprentices grow vegetables and fruit, set up irrigation systems for seedbeds, and learn about sustainable gardening. They supply the children’s home and school with fresh vegetables and fruit.
Baker and Cook

Baking bread, preparing hot meals, creating desserts. The two-year training program also covers cooking and service. Our apprentices produce bread and baked goods for the school and children’s home.
Mechanic for two- and three-wheeled vehicles

Maintaining, repairing, and servicing motorcycles, bicycles, and tricycles like the Bajaj. A sought-after vocational training program in a country where two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles are the primary means of transportation.
Hairdressing/Beauty

Hair cutting, styling, and care. The training covers all aspects of hair and beauty care.
Technical professions:
Electronics technician for energy and solar technology

Fundamentals of electronics and circuit design, soldering and assembling electronic components, understanding circuits and troubleshooting, repairing electronic devices, and working with measuring instruments. After completing the two-year basic training program, students have the option to specialize as a solar technician in the field of renewable energy during a third year of training.
Electrician for buildings and industry

Basic training as a building electrician, including the installation of electrical wiring in buildings, wiring switches and distribution panels, reading installation plans, safety regulations, troubleshooting, and repairs. After the first two years of training, students can specialize as industrial electricians in the third year, gaining skills in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial systems and machinery.
Computer scientist
Hardware, software, networks, and IT support. A three-year vocational training program that prepares students for careers in companies, banks, or public administration.
Plumber

Laying water and sewer lines, installing and repairing plumbing fixtures. An indispensable profession in a country that is growing and building.
